Navy Combination Cover device regulation size E-7 chief petty officer 1.75"

For the Combination Cap, the large (1.75”) device is worn in the front, attached to the black mounting band. This band is secured by the gold Navy eagle buttons, which also hold the chin strap in place.

Navy regulations specify that the insignia should be mounted so “the stock's unfouled arm is to the wearer's right.” This ensures that the front of the insignia faces outward.

This mounting configuration maintains uniformity and ensures proper alignment of the insignia on the Combination Cap, reflecting the wearer's rank and adherence to Navy regulations.

A Chief Petty Officer cap device consist of a gold fouled anchor with silver block letters "USN" superimposed on the anchor's shank.  Senior Chief, Master Chief, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy and Senior Enlisted Advisor, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff cap devices have one, two, or three silver stars are attached above the anchor's stock.
